Slitting

Slitting

Hauler & Hermann operates 6 state-of-the-art slitting lines for roll-to-roll processing. The machinery is specialized in numerous web-shaped materials such as films, papers, laminates and nonwovens of all kinds in thicknesses from 23 to 2,000 µm. The parent rolls, which weigh up to 1,000 kg and are 1,600 mm wide, are lifted with suitable lifting gear and processed further on the slitter rewinders. The materials are cut to the required width using shear cutting. In rotary shear cutting, two circular, overlapping blade disks touch at the sides and shear the continuous material web. This technique enables high cutting speeds to be achieved with a clean cut edge. The minimum cutting width is 5 mm with a tolerance of +/- 0.1 mm. After the cutting unit, the individual strips are fed alternately onto the winding shafts and wound with the appropriate tensile forces. Friction shafts are generally used to ensure optimum winding hardness of the cutting rollers. The processed materials can be wound onto different core diameters. As standard, 1", 3" and 6" cores made of cardboard or plastic are used here.

Slitting

Cross cutting

In addition to slitting, cross-cutting is also required for the production of large formats or sheets. In this production process, we work from roll to sheet. Hauler & Hermann operates various systems here, some of which can even cut lengthwise and crosswise. The tolerances must be clarified in detail depending on the dimensions and material. After the right-angled cut, the sheets can also be stacked and packaged depending on requirements.

Punching

Stamped parts are also widely used solutions for insulating parts, technical parts and seals. The punching production process is a non-cutting separation process. This mechanical processing can be carried out either from a roll or from a sheet. The right punching tool plays an important role here. Depending on the application, Hauler & Hermann uses sharp blades of a steel rule tool (knife cut) or specially manufactured solid steel tools with a punch and die (shear cut). Alternatively, punched parts can also be produced using a rotary process. Our experts will be happy to advise you on which concept makes the most sense for your application.

Our automatic punching presses and eccentric presses process many different materials from various renowned manufacturers. We always respond to the wishes of our customers with regard to the packaging, delivery and commissioning of the stamped parts. It is not without reason that Hauler & Hermann is an important and long-standing supplier to many well-known companies in future-oriented and key industries.

Folding / forming / bending

Hauler & Hermann specializes in folding, forming and bending flat insulating materials to customer specifications. We manufacture punched/bent parts, shaped and profiled parts according to drawings or fitted into your specified sheet package. Thanks to our in-house tool and fixture construction and a specially developed modular tool system, we can react quickly to a wide range of customer requirements.

All conceivable dimensions can be folded, bent and/or punched. For example, insulating parts over 15 m long have already been formed and cut to length. Very important for many customers: a strong embossing and at the same time no damage to the insulating material. We have been mastering this balancing act very successfully for over 60 years.
