When perfection in small parts
has a big impact
The broad production spectrum includes a variety of high-quality products, including insulation parts, electrical insulation materials, slot closures, slot insulation, phase separators, stamped parts, bent parts and molded parts, which are manufactured with a high degree of flexibility and enthusiasm for innovative technologies.
Insulating parts
Slot liner
Slot liners are mainly installed in the stators of electric motors and generators. They separate the winding from the laminated core and prevent electrical arcing in the stator slot. Slot insulations are made from flexible insulating materials and line the slot of the laminated core.
Slot closure
In electric motor construction, wedges are used to close the slots in the rotor or stator after the winding process. They are therefore also known as slot closures. A wide variety of geometries can be realized in terms of back and side length.
Field coil insulation
Power tool manufacturers install field insulation in the stator of their universal motors. Our aim is to produce precisely fitting insulation parts that fit perfectly into the complex stator plate geometry of universal motors.
Rotor insulation
Anchor insulations usually have four embossing lines to ensure a perfect fit in the laminated core. We guarantee the tightest tolerances and optimum fit for your application.
Punched parts
We punch and bend insulation parts to size on our efficient eccentric presses. When manufacturing these insulation parts, we can draw on many years of experience with steel strip tools as well as precision solid steel tools manufactured in-house.
Sheets
The production of sheets, which are often also used as cover strips in the groove, is one of our standard tasks. We supply customers with laser cutters or plotters with large-format sheets.
Phase separator
Phase insulations are insulating parts that are punched from flexible insulating materials. They usually have rounded outer geometries. Phase insulators are used at the winding head to insulate the individual phases of the windings from each other.

Polyester film - Mylar® type A
❯
Polyester films, such as Mylar® A from the manufacturer Mylar Specialty Films, are based on polyethylene terephthalate and are used in numerous industries. PET films are characterized by their outstanding physical, chemical and electrical properties.
Mylar® A is extremely tensile and tear-resistant, even under the influence of heat. Despite its extensive dimensional stability, Mylar® can be formed and embossed and can therefore be used in a wide range of applications. The film also has excellent electrical insulation properties and is therefore ideal as motor insulation in the form of
slot liners⇱, slot closures or

Mylar® can also be printed, metallized and laminated and is used in the printing industry and as a carrier film for adhesive tapes.
As Mylar® is resistant to solvents and oils as well as fungi and bacteria, it is also used in medical technology. Other applications for Mylar® A are in the furniture industry for surfaces and in the packaging industry.

Pressboard/PET film/Pressboard laminate ❯
This is a 3-layer laminate consisting of polyester film with roll pressboard backing on both sides. This special laminate proves to be extremely tear-resistant and is characterized by a high dielectric strength. The pressboard layer absorbs the impregnating agents used in engine construction excellently and thus prevents unfavorable air pockets. This results in improved heat dissipation from the winding copper to the iron core.

DMD Laminate - Dacron/Mylar®/Dacron ❯
DMD is a 3-layer laminate consisting of polyester fleece - polyester film - polyester fleece, whereby the polyester fleece can also be impregnated to achieve a higher thermal class. DMD is therefore available in thermal classes B and F, depending on the manufacturer and impregnation. DMD has high mechanical stability combined with high dielectric strength. Thanks to its smooth surface, it can be easily processed by machine and simply drawn into the rotor or stator. DMD laminates form a very good bond with impregnating and trickling resins thanks to the special outer layer of non-woven fabric. This is the prerequisite for a permanently stable insulation system. Depending on the composition of the laminate, i.e. the individual material thicknesses of fleece and polyester film, different overall thicknesses of 0.15 to 0.45 mm are possible for DMD.

NPN laminate - Nomex®/PET film/Nomex® ❯
NPN is a 3-layer laminate consisting of Nomex® - polyester film - Nomex®. For standard NPN laminates, calendered Nomex® aramid paper is used. In NPN laminates, the good mechanical and electrical properties of the polyester film are ideally complemented by the excellent thermal properties of the Nomex® aramid paper. A distinction is made between
NPN/50 - 50 µm Nomex®,
NPN/80 - 80 µm Nomex® and
NPN/130 - 130 µm Nomex®
Depending on the thickness of the polyester film, this results in total thicknesses of 0.17 to 0.63 mm.
NPN is often used as an insulating material in electric motor construction. The combination of the extremely heat-resistant Nomex® and the dimensionally stable polyester film is ideal for use as

NPN laminates are also available in a version with Nomex® 411, i.e. a 3-layer laminate in which uncalendered Nomex® 411 aramid paper is used.

NKN is a 3-layer laminate consisting of Nomex® - Kapton® - Nomex®. Calendered Nomex® aramid paper is used for standard NKN laminates. NKN laminates combine the outstanding electrical and thermal properties of polyimide film with the good mechanical properties of Nomex® aramid paper. NKN is available in various overall thicknesses from 0.2 to 0.4 mm. In addition, various combinations of the individual layers can be laminated depending on the application and manufacturer.

Nomex® 410 - Aramid paper ❯
Nomex® 410 from DuPont is the original aramid paper. In the manufacture of this product, the aramid fibers are highly compressed, resulting in an electrical insulating material with extremely high mechanical strength, high dielectric strength and excellent thermal resistance. Hauler & Hermann sells Nomex® 410 in all available thicknesses, i.e. from 0.05 to 0.76 mm.
Nomex® 410 is suitable for almost every known insulation application. It is therefore used in transformers, electric motors and generators. For these applications, we cut Nomex® 410 into the desired strip widths or produce stamped and molded parts from it.

Kapton® polyimide film ❯
Insulation class C over 180°
Kapton® polyimide film ❯
DuPont Kapton® HN is a high-performance film for extreme conditions and the highest demands. Kapton® is successfully used in systems with temperatures up to 400°C. However, Kapton® has a guaranteed continuous temperature resistance of +230°C and thus belongs to thermal class C. Furthermore, Kapton® has no melting point and only starts to carbonize at temperatures above 800°C. Kapton® is also extremely flame retardant and has a high chemical resistance. Polyimide film is used when other plastic films fail. Areas of application include the manufacture of chips, the production of fuel cell stacks and medical technology, electronics applications and aerospace⇱.
