Slot liner

Slot liners are mainly installed in the stators of electric motors and generators. They separate the winding from the laminated core and prevent electrical arcing in the stator slot. Slot insulations are made from flexible insulating materials and line the slot of the laminated core.

The constant progress of insulating materials enables the use of ever thinner insulating materials, leaving more space for the winding and thus achieving a higher fill factor. As a result, electric motors can be operated more powerfully.

Slot liners, also known as slot base insulations, are available in various designs, with and without a flange/collar. The flange protects the insulation from slipping during the winding process and its geometry ensures that the necessary creepage distance in the electric motor is maintained.

Hauler & Hermann also offers special slot liners for diagonally grooved stators. We also offer our customers the option of reinforcing the slot insulation by applying adhesive tape or making additional cut-outs in the slot insulation.

Hauler & Hermann supplies very high-quality and complex slot liners for a wide range of customers and applications in the electromobility, wind power and mechanical engineering.
